Ox Yoke Inn 6pm – 8pm Communal Dining and Historical Experience. The menu and dining experience is reminiscent of the days of communal kitchens of which the Ox Yoke once was. It will include a presentation by a local historian dressed in communal era garb, some original utensils, how the food was grown, harvested, prepared and served. $25 per person includes program, entree, beverage, dessert, tip and tax. The Iowa Theatre Artists Company 8am – 5pm Antique and collectables market.
Amana Woolen Mill 9 am – 3pm Free Demonstrations. Experience the magic of blanket weaving on the Woolen Mill looms. The Grahams will demonstrate traditional spinning, carding and knitting techniques.
10am – 3pm Dee Heinrich from Peeper Hollow Farms will show ewes and lambs outside the Woolen Mill. Learn about sheep raising and fine fleece from this expert shepherdess.
10am – 3pm Nancy Adams will be weaving on her hand loom inside the mill. Watch the art of weaving. Free Sheep Activity Books for the kids and refreshments.
Amana General Store 10am – Noon & 1pm-4pm Meet the Author: Anneliese Heider Tisdale. Anneliese will be signing her memoir about growing up in World War II Germany.
Village Winery 10am – 4pm Ongoing craft demonstrations in our “Crafter’s Corner.”
Country Gentleman’s Horse & Carriage Rides
11:00am – 3pm Enjoy a relaxing horse drawn carriage ride throughout historic Amana. Rides start East of the General Store. $5 per person.
“Taste of the World” in the Amana Colonies 10:30 am – 2pm At the Festhalle Barn. Taste a sample or enjoy a feast of Amana Colonies favorites and the best of the world - all from right here in Iowa! Enjoy diverse ethnic and cultural foods all under one roof. Food tickets may be purchased at the Festhalle Barn entrance for $1 per ticket.
Kinderplatz 11 – 1pm “Fun with Bugs, Blooms & Babes!” Bugs in abundance! Come see what Sean Curry, naturalist at Lake Iowa County Park, brings to surprise you! Make you own bug box and more creepy crawly crafts to take home! Meet us at the Market Barn behind Lehm Books.
Pony-Go-Round 11 am – 4 pm Located at the Market Barn behind Lehm Books. Kids love ponies! This is their chance to ride a pony, wear a cowboy hat and have their picture taken! $3 per ride. Photo packages available.
Chocolate Haus Noon – 2pm Come play with Sparkles the Clown on our patio. Also Chocolate Maikäfer “May Bugs” available only during Maifest. These are considered a good luck beetle if you see one in Germany as they are rare. Come in and read about their good luck!
Ox Yoke Inn 10am – 5 pm Face painting by Twing’s DSigns
11am – 4pm Kids and “Big Kids” decorate your own cookie.

Millstream Brewery 11am Clear Creek Amana High School Jazz Band performs after the parade. Brats & hot dogs available all day.
1pm – 5pm Enjoy polka music with The Barry Boyce Band in our outdoor Biergarten. In case of inclement weather, festivities will move inside.
Festhalle Barn Noon – 2pm Enjoy the polka music of our own local Die Tiefen Keller Kinder polka band. They will entertain you as you enjoy the Taste of the World in the Amana Colonies at the Festhalle.
Ronneburg Restaurant Noon – 4pm Becky and The Ivanhoe Dutchmen will be performing a famous collection of German and Czech Polka music.
5pm – 8pm Silver Wings, a Beatles tribute band, will be playing. Come twist and shout with us! BBQ and Millstream beer all day.
Amana Furniture & Clock Shop 1pm & 3pm Shop tours: Take a guided walking tour through the woodshop and learn more about Amana Furniture and how it is made. Space is limited, register by calling 800-247-5088 or stop by the shop.
1pm – 3pm Kid’s craft area: Use blocks of wood and other materials to create something fun to remember Maifest in Amana.
Heritage Designs, Quilting & Needlework ALL DAY All day Come meet fiber artist Sue Kluber, the first place winner in the Fabric Art Division of the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Show in Des Moines last fall, and see her winning entry “Old Soldier”. Sue will also have her 2011 second place winning entry “Landslide” on display, along with several other original pieces, some of which will be available to purchase. Sue has published six art quilt patterns, all available at Heritage Designs, and will be signing patterns during this special event.

Maifest Dance at the Festhalle Barn 6pm – 11pm “Rock for the Trail” with us at the Festhalle Barn on Main Street. Featuring the band, Let It Ride, playing your favorite classic rock and country tunes. Beer, pop and snacks available. Proceeds benefit the Amana Recreational Trails Fund.
